Naked In The Sky
(Day 3) Brunswick Street. The rooftop provided a unique view of the city. I convinced M that we should watch the incoming electrical storm from there. We discussed possible rooftop bars that would be open so late on a Monday evening. He agreed to pick me too and drive us in.In the lift, as we assended together, from the ground floor (known as Naked For Satan) i again took a photo of the ceiling of the lift. That is the place where my Don't Look Down photo series started to really take off.
It was quite new on that original night, in 2014, when i thought to take a photo of the lift's ceiling light. Three art teachers saw me do it. They comment to me that they had seen and were impressed how it had turned out. I told them it was a series and my idea: get off your phones, look around, it is should be less depressing that way surely.
I gave them my business card. And later that night, coming home after drinking, i freshened up my website to look more professional. Perhaps one of these teachers would promote my project and it would blow up?
The project is ongoing. I'm proud to have kept it going for 10+ years and counting. It hasn't blown up. Yet.
