Box Hill 
(Day 14) Wurundjeri Walk Trail, Orchard Grove Reserve.

I picked a coffee shop for breakfast "sight unseen" by looking at google maps. It was close to a green wedge that I wanted to walk and explore. Just me by myself.

Somewhat surprisely, the café was inside a bookstore - which i've seen done elsewhere. My coffee was put on my table with a Bible quote. I noticed the titles of the books were things like Learning Evolution With Jesus. (That title i've made up but you get the idea.) About then I felt relieved that i hadn't brought a date. But the coffee and vegetarian quiche were quite good.

My walk was nice enough and i took a few photos. I expect i won't go back to that trail often. I was hoping to see more bird species than i saw.

Then i went on a mission to find the Box Hill house where my Dad's parents lived (the house he grew up in). And the Blackburn house where my Mum's parents lived (where she grew up). I had been meaning to do that for 10 years or so.

Sulpher-crested chimkens (Rowville - Mitcham) On my morning walk i saw A's old neighbour, S. We had a quick conversation by shouting accross the road - him in his car at the traffic lights & me waiting to cross the road I was up early and straight into the shower, rather than checking my phone too throughly. I feel that my morning scrolling is best done over a coffee – however tempting it is as a daily-first-thing to pick up the phone to check "all of the things" (news, chat notifications, email, wordle) It must have been too chilly for the chickens up on boronia rd. They were not out pecking in the yard which seemed unusual. Presumably the were huddled up in the coop – i couldn't really see in N and i went to Project Brewing in roweville for the first time. The beers were very good. Catfish (Mitcham - Vermont - Brunswick) Got home at 9:30am. Shower. Meditate. Back out 1-3pm Range Brewing tap takeover at co-conspirators, brunswick. Surprised by "The Don" And then Catfish in gertrude st. Garage Project takeover. Two highlights were the barrel sours Foragers for a final "full stop" beer ... or two. Boriggy Hazy IPA. N closed the door as we left the bar —habitually— as if they had called last-drinks, which next day we figured was too early by about 5 hrs. Hilarious In bed by 8:30pm or so

Foragers A few laid-back beers turned into a fairly big session of Jagermeister, huge barrel-aged stouts, and IPAs I've parked nearby, so i'll stay over at N's apartment tonight & leave early when she needs to go to work Overall i feel grateful & relaxed. I've heard some things that make me think that this fling might be a thing - unsure how i feel about that but for sure it's feeling overwhelmingly like positive vibes 12:21am
