(Day 1) Good Friday. Went with L to see a comedy festival event, Chopin's Nocturne. It was part stand-up and part history lesson about the composer, his contemporaries, and this piece of music. A wonderful idea and a fantastic performance. Aiden Jones proved his a talent on the piano and mastery of stand-up comedy performance. What a show!
I had only found out about it through The Chaser podcast. Charles said it was a ripper of a show.
Afterwards we went to Mexican at what used to be the Fitzroy Social. Gluten free (apart from the complimentary corn-chips). Burrito bowl.
Then we went to see jazz. A duo played for an hour, piano and guitar. The pianist had written most of the songs and introduced them. Very fun and excellent value for 10$. Her final song was called Hope Is A Thing With Feathers.
It felt freeing to drive. And satisfying to not drink much for a change. I only had 2 wines and a mid-strength beer, 3.5%. Back at my place, L thanked me for driving, and for offering to drive. I felt grateful to be able to wake up late, decide what to do with my day, and go do it. It all came together.
