Sat 2025-06-28 (Mullum Mullum - Ringwood)

Somewhat sick. I woke with a sore throat

N visited at midday to drop in a care package. I felt pretty good by then. A shower really helped

• Numbing lozenges
• Ginger teabags
• RATs that test for covid and 2 flu strains
• Cheesymite scrolls from Baker's Delight

We sat and chatted for a bit in my couch. Ate cheesymite scrolls from Baker's delight. Then we decided to go to mullum mullum to look for kangeroos. We saw 4 at the bridge, then 2 at the top of the hill 

(Then the same 4 again at the bridge, then 3 on one side of the path, 3 on the other, then small ones, big ones ... we lost count)

We ate dinner at the newly re-opened Sub-urban Rooftop in Ringwood. N showed me how to enter from the back into parking lot 5 and then go up to hear where the staff park (which is close to Sub-urban)

We shared the steak (250g rump) and the steak sandwich. Both tasted delicious. We had 2 schooners: Mountain Culture XPA, Hammerhead NEIPA

Dropped in a foragers for some Range OC DIPA that was excellent. I had a few pots and left my car at the Coles carpark. Free parking all Sundays

We left them bar at ~ 10:30pm. I didn't stay over at N's because of her cough. I got home at 1:45am according to my uber receipt

Slept until 5am. Wordle 3/6. Then slept 5:30-8am

Sulpher-crested chimkens (Rowville - Mitcham) On my morning walk i saw A's old neighbour, S. We had a quick conversation by shouting accross the road - him in his car at the traffic lights & me waiting to cross the road I was up early and straight into the shower, rather than checking my phone too throughly. I feel that my morning scrolling is best done over a coffee – however tempting it is as a daily-first-thing to pick up the phone to check "all of the things" (news, chat notifications, email, wordle) It must have been too chilly for the chickens up on boronia rd. They were not out pecking in the yard which seemed unusual. Presumably the were huddled up in the coop – i couldn't really see in N and i went to Project Brewing in roweville for the first time. The beers were very good. I had a burger and we are quite sure they delivered a different burger than what i ordered - regardless it was tasty (even perhaps better ingredients than what i had chosen) Back to f...

Catfish (Mitcham - Vermont - Brunswick) Got home at 9:30am. Shower. Meditate. Back out 1-3pm Range Brewing tap takeover at co-conspirators, brunswick. Surprised by "The Don" And then Catfish in gertrude st. Garage Project takeover. Two highlights were the barrel sours Foragers for a final "full stop" beer ... or two. Boriggy Hazy IPA. N closed the door as we left the bar —habitually— as if they had called last-drinks, which next day we figured was too early by about 5 hrs. Hilarious In bed by 8:30pm or so

Foragers A few laid-back beers turned into a fairly big session of Jagermeister, huge barrel-aged stouts, and IPAs I've parked nearby, so i'll stay over at N's apartment tonight & leave early when she needs to go to work Overall i feel grateful & relaxed. I've heard some things that make me think that this fling might be a thing - unsure how i feel about that but for sure it's feeling overwhelmingly like positive vibes 12:21am
