Croissant & coffee at Manta Ray, off rooks rd. I walked to Jolimont, forgetting that it's a tuesday so it's closed. Then took the car up to rooks rd

1:30 - 2:30 PM
Lunch-break & meditation (which put me to sleep)

5 PM
Logged off the laptop. It feels much too hot to go out tonight: currently 42°C. The forecast says to expect: 40° at 7pm ➡️ 30° at 10pm ➡️ 20° at 4am

I've moved Pixel inside, to a bucket in the laundry

Had 2 schooners of Tallboy & Nose pale ale 

Ran into KC from ~6 years ago, E55, cave clan

8:20 PM (Northcote Theatre)
Inside i ran into McK who described his migraine symptoms & recent hospital visit / current meds

Saw K & H sitting behind the mixing desk & said hi briefly

Spotted S who is at every gig & gave him a hug

It was the most comedic death metal gig i've ever attended by far: 

• Aborted (Belgium) vocalist made us all do squats mid-song when it hit the right tempo

• Archspire (Canada) took a break between songs to host a short round of Twister in the mosh-pit. Right foot green, left hand yellow, ...

Very refreshing to see such intense musicians having fun, just playing and smiling and joking around & not taking themselves too seriously

Back to Kitty for a final drink (mezcal cocktail) 

Walked to 303 —10 min— where i thought KC might be, because she mentioned it. But no: closed

Instead of going next door to NSC, i opted to call it quits & hailed an uber. Chatted on fb messenger

Sulpher-crested chimkens (Rowville - Mitcham) On my morning walk i saw A's old neighbour, S. We had a quick conversation by shouting accross the road - him in his car at the traffic lights & me waiting to cross the road I was up early and straight into the shower, rather than checking my phone too throughly. I feel that my morning scrolling is best done over a coffee – however tempting it is as a daily-first-thing to pick up the phone to check "all of the things" (news, chat notifications, email, wordle) It must have been too chilly for the chickens up on boronia rd. They were not out pecking in the yard which seemed unusual. Presumably the were huddled up in the coop – i couldn't really see in N and i went to Project Brewing in roweville for the first time. The beers were very good. Catfish (Mitcham - Vermont - Brunswick) Got home at 9:30am. Shower. Meditate. Back out 1-3pm Range Brewing tap takeover at co-conspirators, brunswick. Surprised by "The Don" And then Catfish in gertrude st. Garage Project takeover. Two highlights were the barrel sours Foragers for a final "full stop" beer ... or two. Boriggy Hazy IPA. N closed the door as we left the bar —habitually— as if they had called last-drinks, which next day we figured was too early by about 5 hrs. Hilarious In bed by 8:30pm or so

Foragers A few laid-back beers turned into a fairly big session of Jagermeister, huge barrel-aged stouts, and IPAs I've parked nearby, so i'll stay over at N's apartment tonight & leave early when she needs to go to work Overall i feel grateful & relaxed. I've heard some things that make me think that this fling might be a thing - unsure how i feel about that but for sure it's feeling overwhelmingly like positive vibes 12:21am
