Coffee in bed
Weights
Toilet leaking, wet floor
I've turned off the tap (and emptied it as much as i could)
4 PM
Had to call about 6 plumbers. I had 3 call back.
• Two said $750 callout (it's a public holiday).
• One said he's charging $150 extra for the public holiday = $350 total. Potentially $70-80 if he needs to take the pan out. He said he'll send someone out in the next 1-2 hours. I've given him the gig. Texted him my address which he thumbed up.
5 PM
Emergency plumber has arrived. Temporary patch up job ~5:15pm. Can't use toilet for at least 2 hours. Returning on Tuesday when plumbing parts suppliers are back open
6:30 - 7 PM
I'm due at Foragers to meet Tassie Kate for the first time
Unfortunately, i had ordered it before i noticed my toilet issue isn't fixed
I've texted them that i need them to come back to 19 lex tonight. Talked to them on the phone: They really can't do anything before Tuesday except re-try to stop the leak TOMORROW. This made my rather upset
They have advised me to turn the water off & then just turn the water on to use it (for 2 days and 3 nights)
Sheesh.
9:30 PM
Uber back home to assess the toilet water situation
Good call to leave the bar when i did: that 2L ice-cream container was full to the brim ~ 3 hrs
I have ensured the water tap is turned off, fully emptied the top tank (and as much of the bowl as i could; with a jar). So, hopefully there is very little to drip on to my floor over the next few hours
I should set an alarm to check at midnight: i did
10:30 PM
Good news (i think) It's been ~ 30 min & not much drips at all have reached my blue ice-cream container saviour
(i tried repairing the 2L tub with a bigger baby-bath, but unfortunately that tub is too tall to fit where it needs to)
